CR6 program with VibratingWire instruction could not compile after upgrading LoggerNet 4.6 to 4.7

Hi,

I could not compile CR6 programs with vibratingwire instructions. It says, "CR6Comp.exe stop working." It only happened on CR6 programs with vibraitingwire instruction, the rest are ok. It happened, I think, after upgrading LoggerNet 4.6 to 4.7. Short cut also cannot create simple CR6 program with vibratingwire instrument. It says, "Datalogger Program Not Created." and "C:\Campbellsci\Lib\Compliers\cr6comp.exe exit code:1".

Can anybody help to sort out this issue? Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
Thein

the S.O. of the logger is equally up to date?

Hi Smile,

Actually it happens on CR Basic compilation, not compiliation by the datalogger. I do not dare to update the OS of running dataloggers at field. Loggers at the office are up to date.

Best regards,

First thing to try is updating the compiler on the computer. Download the current CR6 OS from the website, and run that .exe on your computer. It will update the compiler on the computer and the CRBasic help files.

If the program still has the error when compiling, contact your local Campbell Scientific office for support. They will want a copy of the program to investigate the cause for the problem.

Sometimes the compiler on the PC is not able to handle errors as well as the compiler on the datalogger. You can save the program and try on an available datalogger. If the datalogger gives a compiler error, it will probably have a more descriptive message. That might let you know exactly what is wrong in the program.

Hi JDavis,

Thanks a lot for your advice. It works with after downloading and running latest CR6 OS .exe file on the PC. I can compile all CR6 programs with vibratingwire instructions. Shotcut also now can create program file with vibrating wire instruction.

Before this, I did a quick fix as copy the older version of cr6comp.exe (2017 version) from my colleague and paste it in a compiler folder, it worked too. Short cut also ok. So, I would like to highlight that cr6comp.exe (dated: 11-Feb-2021) which came with LoggerNet 4.7 Patch have got some problem in compiling programs with vibrating wire instruction, not only on the CRBasic but also on the shortcut, I am not sure it happed only with me. It happend on both my PC and my laptop.

I know my programs are with no errors. When I try save and send the program file(s) to the logger via file control, and run on the logger, compile succeed and no errors at all. So, it is quite ovbious that the cr6comp.exe (dated: 11-Feb-2021) which came with LoggerNet 4.7 Patch have got some problems in compiling programs with vibrating wire instruction.

Anyway thanks alot for you help. I will try update latest CR6 OS to my field datalogger one by one.

Best regards,
Thein
