CR800 logger Question

WRc_PS Jun 18, 2023 05:57 PM

Hello all, first time here and I hope you dont mind me asking what might end up being be a rediculously silly question.  :-D

We have a Cr800 logger which will be in a field location sealed in an appropriate box but the client has asked if a switch can be employed which will turn Logging ON and OFF.

We have x2 electro-magnetic meters with 4-20mA outputs and x1 Pulse output meter feeding data to the logger.

I have used 'Short Cut' to put together a simple program to handle these three meters data but am very inexperienced using CR800's, is it possible to incorporate a toggle switch to the 800 which will turn on and off Logging.  ? ? ?

Many Thanks in advance

Paul

If you want the system off, you could wiring in a switch on the 12V power.

To disable logging without shutting off power, you can used advanced table options in ShortCut.

1)Add a Control Port Status. It is in the Control section of sensors. Wire to switch to 5V and a C channel. A closed switch would put 5V to the C channel and read as a high state.

2)In the Output Setup, check the box for Advanced Outputs.

3)In the Adv. Outpus screen, check the box for Measurement and select the variable that shows the state of the C channel.
