How to daisy chain several SDM-A04A modules to drive an external recorder

Registered User May 10, 2016 12:42 PM

I want to provide 16 Analog Outputs into an external recorder using 4 modules of SDM-A04A. I am working with a CR3000.

Can someone help me understand how to daisy chain these SDM modules? I found a help video on how to wire a multiplexer, but not an SDM-A04A. I assume there are similiarities.

Each unit has 6 inputs (12V, G, G, C1, C2, C3). Does the the signal come from one of the CAO-1 on the Data Logger and land on C1 of the SDM? How does the next SDM get wired into the first SDM?

Can i daisy chain the power on the SDMs 12V terminals?

Cheers,

Section 4 of the SDM-AO4 manual talks about wiring. SDM devices are addressable, make sure each of yours has a different address. They can all be wired to the same 12V, G, C1-C3 terminals on the datalogger. Note the manual's wiring cautions and maximum cable lengths.
