The Orpheus Mini groundwater datalogger has been designed for the reliable monitoring and storage of water level and temperature data for water management applications. The Orpheus Mini can be used in a variety of applications such as monitoring groundwater pipes and wells, open waters or holding tanks.
The Orpheus Mini is equipped with a rugged ceramic-capacitive measuring cell and a precise temperature sensor. The onboard datalogger can be configured to store and manage the measured values in a 4MB non-volatile memory (corresponds to approximately 500,000 measured values). The communication unit retrieves data and supplies power to the pressure sensor and datalogger unit.
The Kevlar reinforced pressure probe cable includes pressure compensation venting to the communication unit, which works in combination with the desiccant cartridge to provide the most reliable pressure measurements.
To download data the datalogger transfers the stored values to the communication unit, which provides a non-contact transmission of the data via the infrared interface.
Power can be supplied by either Alkaline batteries (minimum 1.5 years operating time with 1 hour measurement interval), or Lithium batteries (minimum 5 years operating time with 1 hour measurement interval). Batteries are easily replaced onsite.
Various adapter plates and suspension brackets allow for an easy and fast installation in well pipes with diameters ranging from 1 to 6 inches. Control measurements are possible in pipe diameters of 2 inches or greater without removing the Orpheus Mini.
