Overview

Our Quick Fire Remote Automated Fire Weather Station (RAWS) is ideal for prescribed burns or other temporary installations when time is of the essence. We built this system to be quick and nimble  - each station can be setup by a single person in less than 3 minutes without any tools or technical expertise.

The Quick Fire comes pre-programmed to output key fire weather indicators including;

  • Fine Fuel Moisture Code (FFMC)
  • Duff Moisture Code (DMC)
  • Drought Code (DC)
  • Initial Spread Index (ISI)
  • Buildup Index (BUI)
  • Fire Weather Index (FWI)
  • Fire Danger Code (FDC)

Detailed Description

The Quick Fire system is pre-programmed to monitor wind speed and direction, air temperature and relative humidity, rainfall, barometric pressure, solar radiation, and lightning strike count & distance. The system comes pre-programmed to output key fire weather indicators that will assist with decision making. Simply plug in the all-in-one sensor upon installation to begin gathering data - no programming or wiring required.

Communication Options

There are a variety of communication options to allow remote access to your Quick Fire:

WiFi

Creating a WiFi hotspot enables you to connect to your station through your mobile phone so long as you are in range. The Quick Fire comes with a built-in CR300 which has a WiFi option available, making this an economical choice for real-time, at-a-glance measurements.

Cellular

If your site has cellular reception, you may prefer the cell modem option which allows for remote connections. Using the 4G Mini, you can be set up for remote connections. This option allows us to set up cell phone or email alerts based on measurement parameters.

Radio

If you have networks of stations in close proximity and they're all capturing data, you may want to consider radio communications. All data can be routed to one central hub, and there is a built in radio option in our CR300

Customization

In addition, each station can be completely customized to capture the data you need. Systems can be configured to:

    • record additional conditional outputs,
    • accommodate various sensor configurations and new data processing requirements,
    • expand channel capacity using multiplexers to add even more measurements if required, and
    • access data off-site or shared with other users via cellular or satellite remote communication options.

Contact us and one of our technical experts can help build a custom Quick Fire system for you, or discuss a quick-deploy system that meets your measurement needs.
