The SDS511 dual port adapter allows two communication devices to be connected to one data logger CS I/O port. Communications are determined on a first-come-first-served basis. The adapter DOES NOT support concurrent communications between the two devices and the CS I/O port. Therefore, Campbell Scientific recommends the SDS511 for devices that only access the CS I/O port intermittently.

The SDS511 supports modem enabled (ME) devices. The ME devices connect to the SDS511 via 9-pin serial cables supplied with the product. Some of our older cables are also compatible, namely the SC12 and 10873 cables. Please note that you can only use one of our newer, black, molded SC12 serial cables. However, you can use one pn 10873 cable and an SC12 cable.
The SDS511 is typically not used with our newer data loggers.
