The COM9602 Short Burst Data Modem allows a remote Campbell Scientific datalogger to transmit a small packet of data over the Iridium satellite network at very low cost. The combination of wide-spread network coverage and the low-cost of Short Burst Data provides a solution for stations anywhere in the world; the COM9602 can be an effective solution where GOES or cellular networks just don’t reach.
